Tempo to delay and reverb times

Note valueStraight, msDotted, msTriplet, msStraight, HzSamples (straight)

ms = 60000 / BPM x factor; the factor for a quarter note is 1, a whole note 4, dotted x 1.5, triplet x 2/3. Hz = 1000 / ms, useful for LFO rates synced to tempo. A common starting point for reverb pre-delay is a 1/32 to 1/64 note (a rule of thumb; trust your ears).

Tap tempo

Tap the button or press the space bar

Averages your last 8 taps; a pause longer than 2.5 seconds starts a new measurement. The space bar works when no text field is focused.

BPM, milliseconds per beat and samples

Bars and song length

BPM is taken as quarter notes per minute; a bar of n/d lasts n x (4 / d) quarter notes (so 6/8 is 3 quarters). Some musicians count 6/8 in dotted quarters; convert your BPM first if so.

Metronome

Uses the browser's audio clock, so timing does not drift while the tab is active. Sound starts only when you press Start and stops fully when you press Stop. Background tabs may be slowed down by the browser.
